Found the model (And update info)

Alright, so it appears that my unit is a Lanyu eBook LY-EB01. This was confirmed by using the password "ZTK" to enter the unit's update menu (Press F1 at bootup as directed).

I was then presented with the following options

1.Format Nand disk
2.Format XIP disk
3.Format Flash2 disk
4.Update XIP
5.Update Eboot
6.Reboot
ESC.Exit

Waitting for press key

Haven't fooled around with any of these settings yet. Kind of afraid I'll kill the unit before I have more time to play with it.

The Compatibility Report Part 1

Alright, having tested a few programs I have some good; mostly bad news. It doesn't appear that a lot of programs want to run on this little device. I've got some running, but others refuse due to unsupported resolution issues (DosBox).

Alright, without further adieu,

[X]DosBox 0.72
The program starts, then immediately quits. I believe this is due to a resolution problem.

[O]Crimson Fields 0.51
The game starts and runs fine, provided you go into the video menu.

[X]Java VM
Ewe and Mysaifu JVM both failed to install citing unsupported device.

[O]PDosBox
Another port of DosBox, this one works! It's horribly slow. Took a full 5 minutes to get to just the intro screen of Master of Orion on the smallest window possible. Dos emulation seems neigh unusable on this unit.

That's all for now!

My 7" Mini Netbook (Windows CE 5.0)

So through the great material ether, I recently acquired one of these Chinese made "Mini Netbooks". These units have a great deal in common, but also some key differences.

Similarities:
7" 800*480 Screen
1 USB 2.0 (back)
2 USB 1.1 (sides)
SD Slot (Some micro, some standard)
Mic In
Headphone Out
Wireless B/G
RJ45 Ethernet Adapter (10/100)
Trackpad

Differences:
ARM processors (220 to 566MHz and rising)
VIA processors (300 - 400MHz Range)
Windows CE 5.0
Windows CE 6.0
VGA Out
Internal Ram (64 - 512 MB)
"Hard Drive" (1GB - 4 GB) *This is usually just an internal CF or SD card

Now since I've come into this unit, I've been looking into getting software for it, which is a bit tricky. Most CE 5/6 based systems are targeted directly at the phone market. Phones have smaller screens, usually touch based, and may lack a real keyboard.

This tends to make things a bit spotty, so currently I'm searching out various places to get Software for this device. This will all be documented right here.

They come in all colors (mine is black) and thousands of different configurations. If you have one of these, please share your specs in the comments.
